What also strikes me as completely unhinged is that Israel orders people to evacuate areas that are about to be bombed. Sure, OK, it wants to show that IDF is a "humane" army and cares about protecting innocents. I won't even go into the sheer insanity of further crowding already overcrowded Gaza by packing refugees into an even smaller area. But if Hamas is using Palestinian civilians as meat shields, then what's stopping them from evacuating to escape the bombs? You're giving advance notice to the enemy about your bombing targets?

Therefore one of two things is happening: a) the IDF and Israeli governments are complete morons who don't understand how to wage war b) the point is NOT killing Hamas fighters, but levelling Gaza to make it uninhabitable and force the Palestinians to leave "voluntarily".
