Welp, I think this piece did it for me. I've fully accepted that there's no way out of this. We can't survive 7 degrees of warming. It's just not possible. Even 5 is hard to imagine, but 7? No.

The only question is if isolated pockets of humanity (meaning small tribes in mountain caves, not settlements) can survive to see the 22nd century. The majority of humanity, assuming we don't blow ourselves up in the next few years, won't.
