To be fair sometimes FB is good for something. I reconnected with a girl whom I'd met in our student years and now we're happily married. I once helped reconnect an FB acquaintance with Greek roots to a long lost part of her family which was separated during the Burning of Smyrna. And in the context of the pandemic, face to face interaction is still limited and difficult. Online communication is invaluable in that respect. Having said all that, I can't disagree with your criticism of Facebook. I find myself spending less and less time in there (most of it is because of Messenger anyway).
