These riots were obviously not beneficial to any cause nor justified. That is a separate issue from whether people have a right to protest, which they do, in both cases. But lines were crossed, clearly. The difference is that on January 6th your government was evacuated from the most important state building next to the White House itself. Did they actually have to shoot or hang Pence for you to raise an eyebrow? In my country anarchist rioters have set fire to police stations. Terrorists have stolen army weapons. Stores and cars have been burned repeatedly. There have been numerous protests outside our Parliament, most of them peaceful. Never once in two centuries has anyone armed broken into the building with the exception of the German invasion of 1941 and the military junta of ‘67. Even then shots were never fired. Not even during our Civil War did this happen. You should be worried, that’s all I’m saying.
