The people who alarmists get to are those like you and me. People who care. Although, admittedly, the lady at the register might be having a bad day, in my experience I have found that people who would huff and puff in such a situation involving a person with a limited mental capacity are those who don't really care. It's not that she lost her patience with that guy. She wanted to make a show out of it. Trying to explain to her that what she did was wrong would be like trying to explain to Trump that mocking people with disabilities is wrong. Have you had much luck being positive with such people?
The only alarmism to which someone like that would likely respond is "they're crossing the border and stealing our livelihoods" kind. Yes, Umair can get very gloomy, but that's only because he can see that we're going downhill fast and there's no one to pull the brakes. It's hard not to despair when you see where the world is going.
