So for you, the argument that trans women should not be using the ladies' room because it makes natal women and girls feel unsafe is transphobic. Fair enough. You're conveniently not addressing the other points she made in her "rambling post", however. Points for which she has received actual death and rape threats. Extremely graphic compared to which your examples of hate speech pale in comparison. Consider also that given the power that she has she could actually have these people prosecuted. Because, you know, public death threats are punishable by law. As far as I know, this hasn't happened.

As for her "celebrity enablers" I think she resorted to this because some of the Harry Potter cast, as well as other celebrities were quick to jump on the bandwagon and call her "transphobic". It was indeed damage control, but essentially it was a reaction against the already existing public shaming by celebrities.

Don't mistake me, I am not actually convinced either way about the "bathroom issue". I am much more concerned about the other points she is raising though, and these issues need to be addressed as a whole and debated at length, involving scientists and experts, not just the public. The problem is, there is no rational discourse about these matters, because it is drowned out by hate speech. Each side is standing with pitchforks and torches in hand and ready to launch a storm of insults and threats on the other. Needless to say, this would scare most scientists away from expressing an opinion.

This is not exclusive to the issue of trans rights, it is a widespread phenomenon, sadly.
