No one claims that climate change is all about drought and indeed some areas of the planet actually experience severe flooding, such as Pakistan. Flooding, however, doesn't help agriculture, quite the contrary. A flood following intense drought is even more destructive than it would have otherwise been. Water needs in most areas are covered by softer rains and, even more importantly. snow and ice in the mountains.

This year's snow cover in California has been remarkable and much needed. It's not going to solve the problem on its own, however.
