First of all, Russia didn't have to be the enemy of the West. There was a chance to make it an ally, and it was squandered.

If you insist long enough on anyone becoming your enemy, then they usually do.

Secondly, if it was the enemy, the lack of a unified policy on how to deal with it led to the current situation. Half of Europe is dependent on Russia's fossil fuels. French and German companies were selling arms to Russia until 2020. How does any of this make sense?

Also, I'm definitely not getting paid for this. But I hate to see people getting killed over power games.
