There are plenty of evidence of misinformation from Ukraine too. For example, the 13 or so troops guarding an island who defiantly answered to the Russian boat to go "fuck themselves" were reportedly all killed. Then we found out that they were held prisoners and released by the Russian army.

This is called propaganda, everyone does it for morale reasons up to and including the Allies in WW2. The Ukrainians are desperate right now and would do anything to save themselves. It's understandable, but NATO must under no circumstance engage the Russian unless NATO countries are actually attacked. A no-fly zone like Zelenskyy asked for repeatedly should not happen under any circumstance. The reasons for this should be obvious.
